Semi-Pro Bets and DFS for February 10th 2021

By: David S McIvor                                                                        @SemiproDFS

I'm going to be blunt.

I have not been fairing too well this season thus far. Aside from a major opening night puck drop win, I’ve basically whiffed at every parlay and DFS lineup since…

It is beyond frustrating to continually refill my accounts, especially when the Wife finds out first hand just how cold of a streak you’ve been on. I assure you, that is a conversation you don’t want to have; ESPECIALLY since now I have convinced her I’m going to hit something big here this next deposit… I play better with pressure, and now my Marriage possibly depends on how well I turn around.

So, no more fucking around, lets nail a small slate, shall we?

Bruins (-175) @ Rangers (+155)

The #1 Line in Hockey are back together to lay down the gauntlet. Pasternak has been a fucking beast coming off hip surgery and it would be a very tough spot to fade any of these top three in Marchand, Bergeron, and Pasta. But I’m going to try and sell you on the Rangers here. 5th in the league for shot attempts and actually have a decent goals against percentage that doesn’t bode with their current basement record. Zibanejad needs, and WILL get going soon. Making me want to be early with him and line mates Buchnevich or Kreider. Give me Rangers at least to cover the spread(+1.5) and Line 1. And as we talk about the next game, a goalie from either side of this matchup would be recommended.

Maple Leafs (-110) @ Canadiens (-110)

In a matchup so close I want to look at the stats here to get some sort of tiny edge. The things that jump at me are Power Play %, Shots for/Against, and Faceoff winning percentage. I'm looking for opportunity and line 2/PP2 correlation with Toronto (Tavares/Nylander/Mikheyev) seems to be the safest bet with these stats. On the other side, Nick Suzuki sticks out as someone that could be a serious thorn in the side of the Toronto defence with 6 shots alone the last time these two teams met. Pair him with Drouin and maybe Toffoli for PP stack and we should be good to go here. I'm going to lean the Over(EVEN) and also Toronto with the Spread Cover(+1.5) in what should be a possible overtime game with a winning score of 5 - 4
